Dinning Drama

Ahhh, the dinning room. This space used to be a bedroom, note the awkward nook in the left corner which was the closet.  There's already four bedrooms in the house, so this bedroom right across from the living room had to go. Sorry for the lame pictures, I didn't think I'd keep any of these.

I really haven't done much to this space. All we did was make it "liveable", because it wasn't even close before. So far we removed the wall between the hallway and dinning room, stained the floors, painted, installed a chandelier, and bought a buffet to fit into the closet area.
BJURSTA Sideboard - IKEA

My boyfriend and my mom went halfers on this for me for christmas. I forgot how time consuming and sometimes irritating putting Ikea furniture together can be. We dont have an Ikea in Winnipeg so my uncle bought it in Ontario and had it shipped here on a Greyhound bus. I was astonished that it wasn't in pieces when It arrived. It fits perfectly into the space where the closet used to be.

Here are some bits and pieces.
P.S. Its no where near done, soo much to do still.
We removed the wall where the plywood is. Note the yucky black bowling ball type tile in the hallway.My Aunt gave me the teak table, its beautiful! Although it needs to be refinished. Not sure what stain to go with.

This is my next big project, finish the dinning & living room.
I'm thinking wainscotting, a little more simple than this, but it's a start.

End Tables

I found these two tables in the classifieds, and they were in amazing shape for being 30 years old. They are HUGE in person, I cant decide if thats a good thing or not. I really love the roman-type detailing.

Before

Love Love Love these knobs..eventhough they're kinda pricey at $5 each, since I got a good price on the tables I bought more expensive hardware.
Home Depot - Amerock
 I spray painted them white first - 3 coats. Then I realized the coverage wasnt as great as I hoped. I then painted them with left over oil based paint. I also still have to fix the doors, they're a little crooked because the hinges were so old and hard to put back on, so I have to buy new ones.

P.S. I took the pictures from my Berry.. soo not the greatest quality

After

Project Cost
Tables = $20.00
Knobs - 4 @ 4.99 = $19.96
Total = $39.96
